I’m sorry, folks, but I’ve been staring at the same four words on my screen for a realy long time now, and the story just won’t come. I’m adjusting to the sudden loss of the luxury of huge swaths of writing time as my job has started up in earnest this week, and I’m having one of those days where the city feels heavy and unnatural. Those aren’t really excuses, but they add up to no flash fiction this week.
Nonetheless, today’s as good a time as any to announce what I’ve been planning for next week: and entire Fiction Week! I’m going to write a six-part story and post a piece of it every day next week, so tune in for the fun!
Oh, and in case you’re wondering, those four words on my screen are, “There were four booths” (Maybe I should never have put a finite number like four in there). It’s a point of contention now…watch for me to flash a fiction starting with those exact same four words sometime in the near future.
